Cryo Storage

Each client’s storage at Cryogenetics’ facilities includes nitrogen refilling and daily inspections of storage tanks as part of any storage package.

We put biosecurity first

We keep the highest level of biosecurity according to international standards, and have designed all our production labs with this in mind. We offer the highest standard of biosecurity by treating each client independently. Before cryopreserving material from each client, our production lab is thoroughly sterilized. All equipment used is either disposable or can be sterilized after use.  When storing genetic material with us, each client leases their own storage tank (dewar) that will hold their genetic material only and will not be shared with any other client. This is to avoid potential contamination with disease causing agents between clients.

Secure storage

For an added level of security, and to avoid accidental loss due to force majeure (natural disasters), the client can choose to store their cryopreserved material in two different locations; either at separate Cryogenetics laboratories, or e.g. both at our lab and at a location chosen by the client. We will always find a storage solution that best suits your needs.

Our staff carries out daily inspections of all dewars and storage tanks at our facilities and liquid nitrogen is refilled at regular intervals. Storage costs include inspection and nitrogen consumption.

Based upon the individual client needs and the amount of material that needs to be stored, we can advise on the most effective storage tank. The most commonly used tank volumes are either 47 liters or 500 liters.
